InstaTuesday: Family Camping Trip

So we went camping this weekend.
Let's just say it wasn't exactly what I was expecting.
I was by no means expecting to really rest and relax while trying to camp with
a teething 13 month old but I wasn't expecting it to be as crazy as it was.

I won't really go to much into it. However I will say that only getting 3 hours total
at the river in 3 days was not enough. =(
On the positive side! The weather was gorgeous.
The food was delicious. My son loved all the playtime outside.
Even though it wasn't what I was expecting,
it is definitely a moment I will always treasure in my heart.

What better way to share our pictures than through the eyes of Instagram.
I didn't get many because honestly I didn't have my phone with me much.
I will also be completely honest and say I loaded these to instagram before I started this post.
Didn't have great service while camping so I wasn't able to do it at the moment taken.

I hope we get to go again before it gets cold. It was absolutely beautiful!

just me. on our way for the weekend.

my sweet family. love the 2 more than anything else.

Momma's little Monkey

Big Springs. Amazing

Okay not from this weekend but Steak & Rice I made last week.
Check out my guest post at abcde today for the recipe!

There you have it. The few pictures I captured from my son's first camping trip.
I know FAIL on my part. I have to get better at taking more pictures.
Wish I would have got some of him in the water. He loved it.
I hope you guys have a wonderful Tuesday and go link up with the beautiful Jane at Taingamala.
1. Because I said so. ;)
2. I want to see you wonderful pictures!

Momma Musing : Deep Thoughts

How are y'all doing on this beautiful Monday?!

I missed y'all while I took my mini break for our camping trip this last weekend.
It was nice to be able to disconnect some from the world of technology.
I will be honest though I missed it! =)

The start of another week and a busy day too.
Getting everything washed and put away from our camping trip.
(That of which is a whole different story.)
My morning at work is done since this is one of my short days.

Clayton is teething and cutting 4 teeth at once. AGAIN!
They have all come in sets of fours. He is miserable.
and the sleepless nights are exhausting.

Lots of time to think this weekend.
Thoughts about my life and where things are at. Where I want them to be.
Happiness and what makes me that way. Why I get so stressed out.
Why I over think everything. These are all things I need to figure out and work on.

camping trip August 2012 Big Springs. Beautiful.

Life is too short to be unhappy and stressed. I have decided to do a detox of the soul!
Since things have been going so well with my weight loss and exercise.
My body is finally starting to feel better and get in shape.

Why not shape up my soul and make her shine like she use to.
I want to laugh more, smile more, be happy more.
I'm starting small and taking baby steps to get there.
I want to really evaluate every aspect of my life so I don't miss anything.

After all I want this to be a change that I keep and carry with me.
A focus on making my family and myself as happy as we can be.
Not worrying about what others think or makes them happy.
Just US and ME!

I am so ready for this journey. I have needed it for a long time.

Psalm 138:3
In the day when I cried out, You answered me,
And made me bold with strength in my soul.

Deep in thought,
Ashley

if you really knew me....

Loved this idea when I first seen it on my sister's blog here and then also here.
SO I thought I would join in on the fun.

If you really knew me... You would know I can't stand when people tell me
one thing and then do another.

If you really knew me... You would know that I am extremely OCD
when it comes to people picking up after themselves.

If you really knew me... You would know that I whine.
It's my thing and I am good at it! ;)

If you really knew me... You would know that Grey's Anatomy is my favorite show.

If you really knew me... You would know that I am a hypochondriac and always think
the worse possible thing. My doctor has actually gotten on to me for trying to self
diagnosis with Web MD.

If you really knew me... You would know that I have been Skydiving!

If you really knew me... You would know that my husband proposed to me
by hiding my engagement ring in a Easter egg for me to find! (Awwweee!!!)

If you really knew me... You would know that my sister is my best friend.

If you really knew me... You would know that I absolutely
can not watch a scary movie before bed.
If I do, I HAVE to watch something happy before I go to sleep.

If you really knew me... You would know that I LOVE getting stuff in the mail!

Loving all of this super cute stuff my girl Jen from Hell Razor sent me!!!
Can't wait to post pictures of me wearing it.
Make sure to check out her blog and shop. Tell her I sent you!

If you really knew me... You would know Fall is my favorite time of the year.

If you really knew me... You would know that moving back to Savannah GA.
and finishing my Interior Design degree at
Savannah College of Art and Design
would make me the happiest girl in the universe!

If you really knew me... You would know that I want 3 kiddo's!

If you really knew me... You would know that I love my sleep.

If you really knew me...You would know that I'm obsessed with tattoo's
and plan to one day be a covered tattooed Granny!

Well that was fun and honestly could keep going but
I think I will save some for another day.

Momma's Easy Meal: Shanghai Chicken Pasta

When looking for a quick and easy meal to make Saturday night
I came across this recipe and since it 5 ingredients and sounded awesome
I decided to try it out. Well lets just say I was glad I did!

It was a hit with everyone and was easy- peasy!

Recipe Found Here
Shanghai Chicken Pasta

1 1/4 pounds boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1/4-inch slices
12 ounces uncooked fettuccine
1 bag (1 pound) fresh (refrigerated) stir-fry or chop suey vegetables (about 5 cups)
1 cup sliced mushrooms (3 ounces)
1/4 cup hoisin sauce

Cook and drain fettuccine as directed on package.
Meanwhile, spray nonstick wok or 12-inch skillet with cooking spray; heat over medium-high heat. Add chicken; cook and stir 3 to 4 minutes or until brown. Add vegetables and mushrooms; cook and stir about 3 minutes or until vegetables are crisp-tender and chicken is no longer pink in center.
Stir hoisin sauce into chicken mixture. Heat to boiling, stirring constantly. Boil and stir 1 minute. Add fettuccine; toss until well coated and heated through.
Makes 6 servings

I would suggest this to anyone who is looking for something to cook in a rush and
it's something a little different than the norm for us.
The one thing I would do different when I make it again
is use angel hair or a thinner pasta.
After is sat for a few minutes it seem to get a
little dry with the thicker fettuccine noodles.

Make Sure you go to Mom's Test Kitchen and
check out the other AWESOME recipes linked here.

Let me know what you guys think when you try it out!
Bon Appetit,
Ashley

Wow is it really August?!

Okay I'm not going to lie it;s August and that kinda freaks me out a little!
I mean really the year is over half way over. When did that happen?
I mean as I get older the years seem to go by so much faster.

This got me thinking.

The year is pass it's half way mark and
where am I with the goals I set for myself starting the NewYear?!
Going back through my post and when I first started my little bloggy blog in January was fun too.

My Goals for 2012...
1) Start a Blog
2) Lose my extra baby weight that I gained by my Son's first birthday. July 8th
3) Eat healthier
4) De-Clutter our home of all things we do not need or use
5) Get caught up on our Debt
6) Work on keeping that loving feeling in my Marriage
7) Keep things Organized
8) Spend tons of time playing with and enjoying my Son as much as I possibly can!

I can happily report that I have done over half of these already.
Getting down to the Nitty Gritty of things.

I haven't got that caught up on debt. Okay Okay I won't lie we are still about in the same place.
I mean we pay the bills that need to be paid but we haven't paid extra like I wanted to.

I haven't stuck to eating as healthy as I would like.
I mean I try and I am definitely doing better than I was.
This is however still a work in progress.

De-Cluttering of the home is always in full effect around here!
It's come along way for sure but the toys have multiplied and that is next
on my to do list....and then comes Christmas comes.

Now on to the things I have so
diligently stuck with and accomplished.

Starting my little blog here. And I love it! I love all the awesome people I have met.
The way it has allowed me to open up and not hold all my feelings in.
I seriously adore the blogging world and all the awesome people in it.

Losing my extra baby weight. I am currently on my way to obtaining my goal
of getting into the pants I could wear when I met my hubby 5 years ago.
Oh just so you guys all know its going to happen before the end of this year!

Keeping that lovin' feeling in my marriage.... Done and Done.
After we had our son well I felt less than pretty and let things in the hubby
department get shoved to the back burner.
I am proud to report that is no longer the case! We are better than we were when we first meet.
I will be a sap and say I honestly love him more now than I ever have.

Keeping things organized has actually gotten better and easier as the year has went on.
Just have to tackle and find the toys taking over my living room some better storage.

Spends tons of time playing with and enjoying my son as possible!!!
This is my absolute favorite and has defiantly been accomplished and will continue to be.

Just a few of the many. We love cuddle time if you can't tell. =)

I guess you can say over all I am doing pretty good this year,
Considering I normally make it a month or two and quite most of the goal I set for myself.

A few things I am looking forward to in August!

THE COLOR RUN my very first ever 5K race and I am stoked.
"Look out y'all Momma's got this!"

Family camping weekend.

Time on the boat on the Lake.

Enjoying the rest of the Summer to it's fullest!

Hope you guys have made it to some of the goals you set for yourselves.
What are the goals you really wanted to do this year? Or the one's you haven't had a chance to do?

I'm off to bed loves I have another LONG day tomorrow.

I want you all to know I haven't forgotten about my Giveaway I am going to do
for all of you awesome people who have helped me get over 50 Followers. I'm at 62 now.
Keep yours eyes posted going to try and get it ll together to run next week!!!!

With Much Love,
Ashley
